Ally Smith

Ally joined UCB and UCB Ventures as Senior Legal Counsel in 2024. Ally advises UCB Ventures on new investments, follow-on financings and exits, as well as supporting governance and portfolio management matters. Prior to UCB, Ally was in-house counsel at Google, where she closed strategic equity investments and acquisition transactions ranging in value from ~$1M to ~$700M. Ally also spent seven years in private practice at a major global law firm, split between London and Singapore, advising on a variety of corporate transactions including cross-border M&A, investments, and private equity. Ally is qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales and admitted as an attorney in California. She holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from the University of Oxford and an LLB from the University of Cambridge. Ally is based in Atlanta where she enjoys spending time with her husband and her dog.
